Gold and Pink Bridal Shower Ideas

Pink and Gold Bridal Shower + DIY Gold Painted Vases

Hope everyone is staying warm! As I bundle up for a slightly chilly night in sweet Georgia, I couldn’t help but browse the internet with a spring state of mind.

I’m currently in the process of helping a college friend plan her spring bridal shower.

Hot Pink is her absolute favorite color, but she didn’t want to smother her family and friends with a very pink wedding. Instead, the theme of her bridal shower will be laced in pink and gold.

So as I was sifting through some great DIY projects on Style Me Pretty. I came across this great Gold Painted Jars DIY project.

DIY Gold Painted Vases

The materials used in the example included glass milk bottles (or any other glass vase variety), a foam paintbrush,  Liquid Leaf Gold Paint and newspaper.

For the Instructions Abby of Style Me Pretty suggests that the key to gorgeousness is getting full gold coverage and varying the heights of the gold paint on each vase to make it feel more artisan.

1. Pour liquid leaf into a bowl that you don’t mind losing. Abby used a small white sauce bowl and when she was done with the vases, she painted the complete inside of the bowl where the paint had been.

2. Dip your foam brush in the paint and carefully apply the paint to the jar allowing yourself inconsistencies in the strokes. Aim for full gold coverage in the areas that you do paint.

3. Let dry for 2 hours or so.

I like the use of glass milk bottles for a baby shower or little girl’s birthday party, but prefer a more curvy vase for this DIY project. I’m sure any vase will make for a perfect match with the gold.
