Gold and Pink Bridal Shower Ideas

Pink and Gold Bridal Shower + DIY Gold Painted Vases

Hope everyone is staying warm! As I bundle up for a slightly chilly night in sweet Georgia, I couldn’t help but browse the internet with a spring state of mind.

I’m currently in the process of helping a college friend plan her spring bridal shower.

Hot Pink is her absolute favorite color, but she didn’t want to smother her family and friends with a very pink wedding. Instead, the theme of her bridal shower will be laced in pink and gold.

So as I was sifting through some great DIY projects on Style Me Pretty. I came across this great Gold Painted Jars DIY project.

DIY Gold Painted Vases

The materials used in the example included glass milk bottles (or any other glass vase variety), a foam paintbrush,  Liquid Leaf Gold Paint and newspaper.

For the Instructions Abby of Style Me Pretty suggests that the key to gorgeousness is getting full gold coverage and varying the heights of the gold paint on each vase to make it feel more artisan.

1. Pour liquid leaf into a bowl that you don’t mind losing. Abby used a small white sauce bowl and when she was done with the vases, she painted the complete inside of the bowl where the paint had been.

2. Dip your foam brush in the paint and carefully apply the paint to the jar allowing yourself inconsistencies in the strokes. Aim for full gold coverage in the areas that you do paint.

3. Let dry for 2 hours or so.

I like the use of glass milk bottles for a baby shower or little girl’s birthday party, but prefer a more curvy vase for this DIY project. I’m sure any vase will make for a perfect match with the gold.

Balloon Party Invitations

Chloe has a fascination with balloons.

She loves free balloons, buying balloons for every good bag we have ever put together and giving balloons to all of her friends.

I’ve known this girl to cling onto balloons for dear life. When we were at Disney, her pink Minnie Mouse balloon was wrapped and tied with a bow on her wrist.

During the week, as Chloe was talking about balloons and possibly a balloon party, she discovered left over balloons from her Cowgirls vs. Aliens birthday party.

All the talk about balloons, and my sweet girl’s balloon fascination, inspired my new collection of balloon printables and designs.

The balloon collection was also a good reason to take a weekend break from Thanksgiving and Winter Holiday orders and designs. Stepping away from your ordinary work is a great way to get the creative juices flowing. It also helps you to stay motivated and interested in your work.

Chloe and a glimpse of one of her many Disney balloons.

The invitations featured are double-sided and measure 5×7. They feature balloons in light pink and hot pink. The back of the invitations feature the age, with balloons pinned to the base of the number. It also features light gray chevron.

I threw in the party hats, at the base of the front side, to balance the balloons on the top of the invitation. For those of you who follow my designs, I sometimes love working with typography. Throughout my education, I learned that sometimes the best designs come from simple elements, such as your font choice.
